I will stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
